The Royal Tutor gets an anime adaption an Prince of Tennis gets a new anime film. You should check out the new anime shirt Shelter and did you hear about something called the “Dragon Ball Room”? I wonder what that could be. Finally there’s a new promo video to the upcoming Black Butler film.
The Royal Tutor gets Anime
The November issue of Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine announced that an anime adaptation of Higasa Akai’s The Royal Tutor manga has been green-lit.
Accepting the post of Royal Tutor at the court of the king of Grannzreich, Heine Wittgenstein is a little professor with a big job ahead! Each of the kingdom’s four princes has a rather distinct personality. Does their diminutive new instructor have what it takes to lay down some learning? It’s a comedy of educational proportions!
Prince of Tennis gets Film
The third and last session of the “TeniPuri Festa 2016 ~Kassen~” event ended with an announcement that a theatrical film project has launched in The Prince of Tennis franchise. The original manga’s creator Takeshi Konomi personally made the announcement, and he is serving as executive producer on the new anime film project.
The new anime will depict previously untold stories in the three months between the stories of the first Prince of Tennis manga and The New Prince manga. It will cover story material that was not in either manga series.
New Manga by Sayaka Mogi
The 34th issue of Kodansha’s Itan magazine revealed that manga creator Sayaka Mogi is launching a new manga in the magazine’s next issue. The issue didn’t reveal the manga’s title. Kodansha will publish the magazine’s 35th issue on December 7.
The magazine describes the manga as a “Japanese-style fantasy” centering on two mountain demon brothers who have different mothers, and are persecuted by other mountain demons.

Dragon Ball Room
Japanese publisher Shueisha announced during a “new publications project presentation” in Tokyo that it had created a new department called the “Dragon Ball Room” in June that focuses specifically on Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball property. Akio Iyoku, the editor-in-chief of Shueisha’s V Jump magazine, is heading the new department.
The department is working to provide new ideas for content for Dragon Ball, and to optimize and expand the brand. Iyoku commented that the department is “only thinking about Dragon Ball.” Dragon Ball creator Toriyama commented on the new department, saying that the team was one he could put his trust in. He joked, “It’s really great that I don’t have to do anything now.”
Black Butler: Book of Atlantic PV
The official website of Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic, the upcoming Black Butler anime film, added additional cast members and a second promo video. In addition, the website unveiled a new key visual by character designer Minako Shiba.
The promo video previews the theme song “Glass no Hitomi” by the band SID. The film will open in Japan on January 21.
I hope you also enjoyed this Shin issue. If there is anymore interesting news I’ll write an Extra and link it to next week’s blog. I really liked the Shelter anime short. It’s kind of sad.
